Gloomy Days
Sunsets are not always colorful. This one was dark and stormy. The picture is taken at Eskilsø, Denmark with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
A very gloomy sunset at Bolund near Roskilde, Denmark. The fjord had frozen over as a result of some cold weeks. This left some very nice leading lines in the ice toward the peninsula. Captured with Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
A very dramatic sky just before sunset at Bolund, Denmark. Captured with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Driving past this tree almost every day, I kept my eye out for the right conditions – and then they came one morning: Foggy and slightly frosty with the sun just breaking through. Taken with Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Finishing a photo session at the Wadden sea, I saw this lonely tree under threatening clouds on my way back. Taken at Mandø Ebbevej, Denmark just after sunset with Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
A rather sinister sunset at WWII bunker, Hirtshals, Denmark. Composition wise quite challenging due to the steep hills. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750
Hoping for a colourful sunset, instead I got a snow storm heading my way. This is a long exposure of the last light of the day just before the snow hit. Taken with Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Windy sunset at Fanø beach, Denmark. On a very rare occasion, I have a person in the picture, as this fit the composition quite well. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750.
Fascine at the Wadden Sea, Denmark in a colourful and gloomy looking sunset after a day of shifting weather. Long exposure taken with Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Taking up the challenge about woodland photography, I was blessed with very nice conditions one autumn day. Taken with Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II near Copenhagen, Denmark.
Some times (quite often, I find), you get something different than you set out to get. This evening I was at Furesø, Denmark for some completely different photography, but I couldn’t resist the atmosphere, and took this long exposure at with a Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
The last sunlight before a trip for night sky photography. I got the sun setting behind Princess Alexandrine’s Bridge, Denmark. Manual HDR blend of two images. Taken with Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Búðakirkja, Iceland on a very rainy day. I was inspired to this look by other pictures, I have seen of the church. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750.
A grave mound on Møn, Denmark. I went for scouting for night time location and saw the nice clouds above. Taken with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
At an old shipwreck in Denmark, just before a grey sunset, the sun peaked out through he clouds for a few seconds. This is a stack of a long exposure for the water and a shorter exposure for the sky. Taken with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
The Bastrup Tower just before a disappointing sunset. The clouds gave a fantastic mood very suiting to an old ruin. Taken with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
A cloudy sunset at Vester Strand, Denmark. This image is severely underexposed to show the gloomy mood and the colours in the clouds. Taken with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Fantastic sunset at Dalby Huse, Denmark. I was lucky to capture this sunset at very low tide so I could walk out to the boat. Captured with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
WWII bunker on Fanø, Denmark at sunset with the sun shining through some heavy clouds. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750. Manual HDR blend of 4 images.
A walk through a foggy forrest in winter time gave me some nice and moody light. Taken hand held with Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR on Nikon Z6II.
Located near Roskilde. I love this tree, and have photographed it on several occasions, but finally managed to get it in the right conditions. Taken with Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Long exposure of WWII bunker on Fanø, Denmark. This was a very windy day, where everything got sand blasted. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750.
Denmark’s smallest museum at Nyord. I was hoping for a colourful sunset, but it got very gloomy, so I went for another look than anticipated. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750.
Norwegian mountains. HDR of 3 images taken from the road using Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR on Nikon D750. The original scene was much brighter, but I wanted to show a dark and moody scene.
A wide shot of Denmark’s smallest museum at Nyord in a gloomy sunset. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750.
During nice weather I went to the docks for photographing this floating bridge. Long exposure taken with Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S on Nikon Z6II.
Driving to Akureyri, Iceland, I saw some threatening clouds gathering over the mountains behind the city. I jumped out of the car and aimed the camera up for a sinister picture. Taken with Nikon 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on Nikon D750.
